Herbalism for Kids Unit Study

Perfect for the Whole Family!

This unit is designed to start kids young with learning about herbs and medicinal plants. Each lesson is designed to help teach various aspects about herbs such as harvesting, identification, preparations, history, and spending time learning about the plants themselves.

Each child will create their own Herb Journal to keep track of their knowledge.

If you don't have any experience with herbs as a parent, no need to worry! This unit has everything you need to learn for yourself and teach confidently.

Sign Up For Our Homeschool Herbal Course

Discover the world of medicinal plants in this 12-week herbalism course designed for homeschooled children ages 8–12. Students will learn how people have used herbs through history (with a special focus on the United States), practice safe and simple ways herbs are traditionally used, and build real identification skills for certain common herbs. Each 45 minute class includes engaging stories, hands-on observation and activities, Latin names, and a weekly Herb Journal that becomes the final project. Taught in-person, this course helps kids grow confidence, curiosity, and respect for plants.

Classes will be taught at the Lindon Community Center (25 N Main Street, Lindon UT 84042) on Thursdays at 1:15pm.
